The small creek runs noisily in spring, forming small, picturesque waterfalls and cascades finally ending at the far northwestern tip of Gross Reservoir. Winiger Ridge is known primarily as a dispersed camping area but there are some fun trails with nice views of the foothills as well as Indian Peaks/James Peak Wilderness. It had a fire ring (fortunately the fire restrictions had been lifted when we were there), level campground and beautiful scenery. The trail down to the reservoir is only about a mile each way, but is a fun little walk with lots of shade and a little waterfall towards the end.
